Uses Limited Only by Your Imagination
EXTRA DUTY STRENGTH – 550lbs of strength means that whether you’re making a hammock, hanging a bear bag, hoisting your tree stand, replacing your guy lines, doing farm work, replacing your boot laces, or using this cord as tie downs, TOUGH-GRID® paracord can handle the job.
INCREDIBLY VERSATILE SURVIVAL TOOL – TOUGH-GRID® paracord is made to meet or exceed the U.S. Military’s Mil-C-5040H specifications. Nothing brings people together like a warm campfire, which is why you can rest easy knowing that you have the best possible cord if you need it. Furthermore, if your situation turns into a survival situation, this cord is designed to take a beating and keep on working.
MEETS OR EXCEEDS MIL-C-5040H SPECIFICATIONS – Our cord has 30%+ stretch, measures 1/8″ (+/- 1/32″) in diameter, has a tracer strand, and is UV and abrasion resistant.
100% NYLON & (7) INNER CORES – This paracord is made with (7) inner triple strands, while commercial 550lb cord is made with an inner double-strand construction. There is a reason the U.S. Military requires 100% nylon to meet their specs… it’s a stronger and more versatile material! Don’t fall for polyester sheathing or strands, it is NOT real mil-spec.
SIX CONVENIENT LENGTHS – 50, 100, & 150 footers come coiled in a bag, 200 footers come wound on a tube and 500 & 1000 footers are wound on a spool. A bag or tube might be perfect for your backpack or car, while a 500 or 1000 foot spool might be perfect for your survival supplies or garage.
PRACTICAL AND FUN – Get the most out of your paracord and make bracelets, lanyards, and other fun projects! If you’re going to have a survival paracord bracelet, you may as well make it with the good stuff. If you get into an emergency situation, you’ll be glad you have it!

TOUGH-GRID® Paracord… Why You Need It and What’s the Difference?
What’s so good about TOUGH-GRID® paracord? Our paracord is REAL Type III Mil-Spec Parachute Cord, as opposed to many other paracord brands on the market… and it’s Made in the United States! TOUGH-GRID® Paracord meets or exceeds the Mil-C-5040-H specifications that were created by the United States Military. As we all know, the US Military is very strict when it comes to specialized gear and they won’t tolerate any of their suppliers skimping on quality!
Our 550lb parachute cord is actually used by the Military for personnel parachutes. Our Military Grade Paracord has the required 30% stretch built-in to it as well as being UV, chemical, and abrasion resistant, and made with (7) inner (triple-twisted) strands as opposed to (7) inner (double-twisted) strands in some other 550 cord. Our Premium Nylon can endure the elements like no other material and is truly a man-made marvel. NASA even used parachute cord to help fix the Hubble Space Telescope! As you know, the Hubble telescope is still producing some of the most amazing photos the world has ever seen.
Let’s be clear… this cord is NOT for people who are looking for the cheapest available option. It’s NOT for people who don’t care about the quality of their cord and it’s NOT for people who don’t want cord that is made in the United States. If you fit that description, this is not the cord for you. TOUGH-GRID® paracord is the BEST of the BEST cord available anywhere in the entire world. Yep, that’s a bold claim, but we can back it up.
Why is Paracord the Ultimate Survival and Bug Out Item?
Since the creation of paracord in 1935 by a man named Wallace Caruthers, to the popularizing of parachute cord during World War II, paracord has experienced a meteoric rise. Why? It’s one of the most useful cords/ropes in the world. If you want to wrap your knife to get a better grip, paracord is perfect for that. Want to make a bracelet, lanyard or belt? Paracord will give you a perfect base and can be broken down and used in emergency situations. Whether you need to tie something down, set a snare, replace your guy lines or boot laces, lash poles together, or replace your bow drill string, paracord is your best bet! You can even take the inner cords out and use them as fishing line or dental floss, even sutures in an emergency.
A Few Creative Uses for Parachute Cord.
Paracord can be used in thousands upon thousands of different ways. You’re only limited by your imagination! Some of the most common paracord projects are: bracelets, lanyards, monkey fists, watch bands, belts, rifle slings, knife wrapping, harpoon lines, dog leashes, dog collars, lighter wraps, pace counters, rings, can koozies, keychains, hanging chairs, hammocks, bull whips, camp chairs, multi-tool pouches, replacement drawstrings, and gill nets (using inner strands). Again, the uses are unlimited and people are finding creative and fun, new ways of using paracord every day!
What’s the Best Way to Use Paracord?
Paracord is comprised of an outer sheath and multiple inner strands. There is nothing that keeps the inner strands from slipping around inside the outer sheath, so when you cut paracord, you also need to seal it. There are a few ways of doing this:
- Once you’ve measured and cut your cord, use a pocket lighter, torch, candle, or a campfire and melt both ends of the cord until the inner strands and outer sheath are fused together.
- 2- Measure your cord and find where you would like to make a cut. Use a pocket lighter, torch, candle, or campfire to heat this spot until it starts looking glossy and melted. Next, just use scissors or a knife to cut through the middle of this hardened, glossy section. Check for inner strands that aren’t fully melted and finish melting them with your heat source. This produces a cleaner end than simply cutting your cord and then sealing the cord with your heat source.
- 3- Heat up an old steak knife using a stove, torch, or campfire until it is glowing red hot. Use this knife to cut & seal the cord at the same time. This produces the cleanest, nicest seal out of all of the methods. You can also invest in a “hot knife” tool which will do the same thing. “Hot knife” tools are used for cutting professional climbing rope as well since it is such an effective method.
Working With the Inner Triple Strands.
To use the inner strands of your paracord, measure the length you will be needing and cut your cord with a knife or scissors. Do not seal the ends, instead, just grasp the inner strands and pull them out. The left-over sheath can still be useful for many other projects like bracelets, bull whips, pouches, and even supporting light loads.
Why YOU Need Some High Quality Paracord?
Because of the excellent properties and countless uses of parachute cord, it’s a sound investment in your safety and survival preparations. Any true prepper or survivalist will tell you to stock paracord in your home, bug out bag, car, toolbox, and anywhere else you keep emergency supplies. It was called “Mile-A-Minute” cord by the U.S. military during World War II because they “used a mile of it for every minute in the field”. The Military Grade Nylon used in our cord is truly a remarkable material that withstands the elements like no other.
